Hydroxyethyl Methyl cellulose(HEMC) is a white, yellowish-white or grayish-white powder or granules, it's a cellulose ether which is based on methyl cellulose.
Appearance of HEMC
HEMC is a white to light yellowish, oderless and tastless powder, readily soluble in hot or cold water to form a viscous gel solution. When PH in solution is within 2 to 12, the solution is quite stable.
Characteristic of HEMC

a. High temperature stability
b. Slower cement setting, minor influence on gypsum plaster(Cost saving: dosage of retarders might be lowered, if used)
c. Sufficient water retention (viscosity dependent)
d. Overall good workability

 

MF grades can be used together with many organic and inorganic additives like surface active substance
(air-entraining-agents) ,accelerator Reactive air entraining agents and other water soluble polymers (starch ethers)
