Product Description
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)
HEC is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose through a series of chemical and physical processes.
HEC is a white to light yellowish, oderless and tastless powder, readily soluble in hot or cold water to form a viscous gel solution. When pH in solution is within 2 to 12, the solution is quite stable

Paints and Coatings: HEC is widely used in the paint industry as a thickener, stabilizer, and rheology modifier. It improves the viscosity control of paints, preventing drips and providing smooth, even application. HEC also enhances film formation and pigment suspension, resulting in high-quality finishes.
Personal Care Products: HEC is a key ingredient in many personal care products such as lotions, creams, shampoos, and gels. It acts as a thickener, providing the desired texture and consistency to these products. HEC also offers excellent water retention properties, improving the moisturizing effect and stability of personal care formulations.
Adhesives and Sealants: HEC is used in adhesive and sealant formulations to provide improved viscosity control and adhesion properties. It enhances the stability and flow characteristics of these products, ensuring better bonding and sealing performance.
Pharmaceutical Formulations: HEC finds applications in pharmaceuticals as a binder, disintegrant, and film-forming agent in tablet formulations. It helps in controlling the release of active ingredients and improving the overall stability of pharmaceutical products.
Construction Materials: HEC is utilized in the construction industry for various purposes. It is added to cement-based products, such as tile adhesives and grouts, to improve their workability and water retention. HEC also enhances the bonding strength and durability of these materials.
Food and Beverages: In the food industry, HEC is used as a thickener, stabilizer, and texture modifier. It improves the consistency of products like sauces, dressings, and desserts, providing a smooth and pleasing mouthfeel. HEC also acts as an emulsifier, helping to prevent phase separation in food and beverage formulations.
